Cider Syrup

Cider syrup is produced here in the late fall.  It is a thick, dark syrup that originated in early America. It lasted longer and was easier to get than sugar cane, and was used as a sweetening agent.

Today cider syrup is used in marinades, dressings, baked goods and in mixed drinks.
